Data from Infrastructure Investor reveal 59 percent of institutional investors globally maintained or increased their allocations to private infrastructure in 2020. Eighty-five percent of LPs plan to invest the same amount of capital or more in the next 12 months compared to the previous 12 months.
Combined, the top 20 largest known private infrastructure fund commitments made to 2020-vintage funds committed $4.6 billion in capital. Among these commitments, four were made by Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
On average, the asset class constituted 5.05 percent of LP portfolios in 2020, an increase from 4.87 percent as of year-end 2019.
