AMP Capital has appointed Andrea McElhinney as investment director within its social and aged care infrastructure team to take over from current unit head Julie-Anne Mizzi.
Based in Sydney, McElhinney will assume responsibility for the day-to-day portfolio management of Community Infrastructure Fund (CommIF), which includes portfolio optimisation, client interaction and investment activities.
She joined AMP Capital in December 2010, becoming a part of the CommIF investment team as an asset manager of a number of the fund’s key assets, according to the statement.
“With more than 17 years’ commercial experience, Andrea’s familiarity with the fund, detailed knowledge of the underlying assets and strong relationships with our clients make her the ideal candidate to step up to a leadership role within the team,” Mizzi said.
Mizzi will retain overall accountability for CommIF, the statement added.
AMP Capital’s CommIF is invested in a number of public-private partnerships in Australia and New Zealand.
Its investment spectrum covers education, health, justice, defence, community housing, recreational facilities, transport and other social infrastructure sectors. The assets' income is primarily derived from long-term, CPI-linked concession arrangements with government entities, according to the company website.
