Arkansas Teacher Retirement System has approved commitment of up to $50 million to Axium’s open-ended Infrastructure North America Fund, a contact at the pension confirmed Infrastructure Investor.

The fund typically invests in US and Canadian mid-sized assets defined as requiring equity investments of $15 million to $75 million in energy, transportation and social infrastructure assets.

The $17.35 billion US public pension has a 2.0 percent target allocation to infrastructure that currently stands at 1.60 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, ATRS has made six commitments to infrastructure funds since 2015, which combined constitute $204.50 million.
