Last year, infrastructure fundraising may not have set a new record, but it certainly ended on a high note recording a total of $97.3 billion raised.
At $22 billion, Global Infrastructure Partners’ fourth flagship fund accounted for 23 percent of that total, while two European fund managers – EQT and Ardian – raised the second- and third-largest vehicles, respectively.
The data also underscores the industry’s continuing trend towards consolidation, with 61 funds raising slightly more than $97 billion compared to 78 funds raising nearly $104 billion in 2018.
