GVK company winning bidder on NH3

GVK Transportation is now owner of a 30-year concession to widen National Highway 3, a vital highway in India.

GVK Power and Infrastructure has won a bid on a 30-year concession for a major highway project in Mumbai, India, the company said.

The bid called for its wholly-owned subsidiary, GVK Transportation, to expand a 332-kilometre stretch of the two-lane National Highway 3 (NH3) to a four-lane thoroughfare.

The agreement will be signed “shortly,” the company said.

NH3 is a busy highway, connecting central India to north India.

In August, GVK Power & Infrastructure acquired a 14% stake in Bangalore International Airport for about Rs$6.1 billion (€94 million; $132 million).
