New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $100m commitment

The US public pension has backed a co-investment vehicle managed by I Squared Capital.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved a commitment of $100 million to ISQ Co-Investment Fund II, according to the pension’s latest monthly report.

This co-investment vehicle acts as a separately managed account between the pension and I Squared Capital, and will invest alongside the manager’s ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund II. New York State Common previously committed $300 million to this fund in Q3 2018.

The $210.20 billion US public pension has a 1.0 percent allocation to infrastructure.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has made four commitments to infrastructure funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $1.26 billion.
