Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds confirmed $125 million-worth of commitments to infrastructure vehicles at its February 2021 investment advisory council meeting, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.
The commitments comprised $75 million to Grain Communications Opportunity Fund III and $50 million to a sidecar co-investment vehicle investing alongside Fund III with Connecticut as the sole limited partner.
Connecticut invests in infrastructure out of its $4.5 billion real assets portfolio.
As illustrated below, the $41.07 billion US public pension’s recent infrastructure commitments have targeted mostly global mega-funds such as Global Infrastructure Partners IV and ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III.
